Commissioning Music

Keveli Music

general information

Commissioning works can be a financially daunting undertaking, but Keveli Music finds creative opportunities to support commissioning projects at all levels. Keveli Music has been involved with commissions from K-12 school ensembles to major symphony orchestras. Continually creating performance and commissioning consortia opportunities, Keveli Music has made the process of commissioning an affordable option, regardless of ensemble size or level.

participation options

There are three options in which you can participate in the commissioning of a new Keveli Music work:

  • Initiate a stand-alone commission – You are the sole commissioning agent for a new composition;
  • Initiate a consortium commission – You are the “lead” member of a consortium that includes no less than two commissioning agents;
  • Join an existing consortium project – Simply select a project from the open consortia list below (also listed in the commissions menu) that fits your needs.

Open Consortia

Keveli Music is dedicated to forming consortium commissioning projects in order to give performing organizations and soloists the opportunity to participate in the commissioning process without paying large commissioning fees. This is accomplished by asking multiple members of a consortium to share the commissioning fee. The following list represents the consortium opportunities that are currently open and available for participation. Select the link below to obtain specific details for each open project.

  • Boston Brass – Seeking wind band participants to help commission a work for Brass Quintet and Band. DETAILS

The next step…

The most important step to take is to CONTACT Keveli Music so that all aspects of the project, including commissioning fees, can aid in your decision. The commissioning process can take between 1 and 3 years to come to fruition once initial contact is made and all details for your project have been outlined. The completion timeline is dependent on the relative complexity and details required of each work. Your project is officially added to the Keveli Music Open Commissions list once you give approval to move forward. Keveli Music wants your commissioning experience to be a successful one and maintains special project coordinators that will assist you in all aspects of the commissioning process. CONTACT Keveli Music to begin the process that will lead to a musical legacy on your behalf!
